Commerce Portal — B2B ordering we experiment with

A lab prototype for business buyers: curated catalogs, cart, checkout and order flows — exploring contract-style purchasing without consumer-shop clutter.

Commerce Portal lives in our Innovation Lab because we use it to experiment with B2B commerce patterns — not as a finished product line beside Garage or Retail Hub. The demo covers catalog browse, cart, checkout and orders in a wholesale-style workspace we iterate on when exploring client briefs.

B2B buyers need approved product lists, customer-specific prices and repeat orders — not coupon-driven consumer checkout. This prototype lets us test how catalog visibility, line items and order history might feel before we scope a custom portal for a distributor or manufacturer.

The lab build is intentionally narrower than a production B2B platform: it proves UX and data flow, not every ERP integration or approval chain. That honesty matches how we treat other lab projects — working screens, clear boundaries, room to learn.

If the direction resonates, we can promote ideas from Commerce Portal into a client project or a future featured solution. For a live B2C storefront today, see Retail Hub in Featured Solutions.

Why teams choose this

Account-based catalogs

Each customer sees SKUs, packs and substitutes allowed by contract — not your entire warehouse in search results.

Negotiated pricing tiers

List, contract and volume breaks apply automatically at checkout. Price disputes drop when the portal is the source of truth.

Repeat order in clicks

Reorder from history, favourites or standing lists. Bulk add by SKU spreadsheet for procurement teams placing large lines.

PO and approval workflows

Capture purchase order numbers, approval chains and credit limits before the order hits your ERP or warehouse system.

Self-service order status

Buyers track fulfilment and invoices without calling sales. Support sees the same timeline internally.

Integration-first design

Product, stock and price feeds from your master data. Orders export via API or file to systems you already run.

Use cases

Practical scenarios we design for — whether you adopt a demo as-is or want a tailored build.

Wholesalers & distributors

Replace email order chaos

Dealers log in, see today’s prices and submit orders that arrive structured for picking — fewer transcription errors at the desk.

Manufacturers

Direct B2B without retail noise

Sell spare parts and consumables to certified partners with MOQs and lead times visible per account.

Procurement teams

Controlled buying for branches

Regional managers approve carts over threshold. Headquarters keeps catalog governance without blocking local urgency.

Digital transformation leads

Pilot before platform bet

Prove portal UX and integrations on a focused MVP before signing a multi-year enterprise commerce contract.
